Research projects addressing any fundamental principles of development will be considered. Applications involving quantitative biology approaches, analysis of cellular and molecular processes at the single cell level, stem cells and their ability to form organs/tissues or the role of mechanical forces in development will be particularly welcome.
About the Developmental Biology Unit (IBPS-BD): The IBPS-BD hosts 16 research groups with a commoninterest for the study of embryonic development, meiosis and fertilization. Our research draws on a widevariety of model organisms, including C. elegans, Drosophila, zebrafish, Xenopus, chicken, mice andplants. The complementarity of scientific projects, technical skills and model organisms provides asynergistic and dynamic research environment.

About the IBPS: The IBPS, located in the centre of Paris on the main campus of UPMC, is a large multidisciplinary research institute (600 people, 56 teams, 5 technology platforms) working in five different research areas: Genomics, Evolution, Development, Neuroscience, Ageing. The Institute is affiliated to the Faculty of Biology. It has strong links with the Faculties of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics on the same campus, and with the neighbouring Faculty of Medicine. The IBPS offers full access to state-of-the-art technology platforms, including rodent and aquatic model facilities, high throughput sequencing technologies, 2D and 3D imaging, mass spectrometry and FACS analysis. It is funded by CNRS, UPMC and Inserm. http://www.ibps.upmc.fr/en
